Operations Manager

The Red and White Fleet, a San Francisco icon in Fisherman’s Wharf with family roots back to 1892, offers bay cruises, land tours, and vessel charters throughout the Bay Area. Located in the heart of Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco, the company is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Operations Manager.

The Operations Manager (OM) focuses on managing the operational needs of the company while maintaining regulatory, safety, security and professional standards through the implementation and maintenance of various programs. As well, the OM manages the daily operations through crew scheduling and dispatching, ticket booth management support, customer service coaching, staff communications, special event coordination, and staff training. In the absence of the VP of Operations, the OM provides coverage for the respective areas and responsibilities. The OM also interfaces with the Accounting, Engineering, Sales and Marketing, Box Office, Snack Bar, Charter and Customer Service managers to ensure seamless operations and a positive guest experience.

Team collaboration, excellent communication skills, individual problem solving, and the ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment are a must. The position requires reliability, professionalism, and a high level of integrity.

Applicants must possess the following minimum qualifications:

    Education

  • Minimum- Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and experience in the maritime industry, operations management, project management and leadership.
  • Preferred- Specialized education in maritime are of study.
    Experience

  • 2-3 years of supervisory or management experience in a maritime business environment.
    Preferred minimum captain qualifications: 100 Ton Inland Waters Master’s License, three years of operating on license, FCC Marine Operator’s Permit, Radar Observer Unlimited, CPR/First Aid, TWIC, familiarity with the San Francisco Central Bay
    Leadership

  • Project management and supervisory skills required
    Technical Skills

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and fluency in general computer skills

The position requires availability for evening, weekend and holiday shifts based on a 365 days a year operation and participation in the company’s drug and alcohol free program.
